Ladder Safety Training and Heights Awareness

WHY | As per the Occupational Health and Safety Act, employers must ensure safe work as far reasonably practical and implement safe ladder work procedures. Staff must be trained according to the hazards and risks they are exposed to, in this case ladder safety and working at heights. 

WHO | Appointed Ladder Inspectors.  This Course is for any individual who has been nominated/ appointed as a Ladder inspector in his or her work environment. This course will teach delegates the principles of safe ladder work, ladder inspection and awareness of Working at Heights.

WHY |This First aid course forms the basis of all emergency medical care. Once you have successfully completed this course you will be able to render basic life support procedures in your organisation as a First aider. As per Occupational Health & Safety Act, any organisation employing 5 or more people must supply their employees with a Regulation First Aid Kit. In addition, any organisation employing 10 or more people must have a sufficient amount of fully trained Level 1 First Aiders. Certificates must be accredited by both the Department of Employment and Labour as well as SETA.

WHO|This First aid course is aimed at Appointed First Aiders in the workplace or any other person responsible for Health and Safety in the workplace.

Legal Liability & Introduction to the OHS Act | Demonstrate knowledge and application of the OHS Act (242668)

WHY |This course will provide insight into the structure of the Act as well as address legal liability within the context of the Occupational Health and safety Act, 1993 and applicable regulations.

WHO | The Course is aimed at members of Management or Supervisors responsible for managing Health and Safety.

WHY | As per the Occupational Health and Safety Act, any organisation employing 10 or more people must have a sufficient amount of fully trained Fire & Evacuation Wardens.

WHO | Appointed Fire fighters/  This Course is for any individual who has been nominated/ appointed as a Basic Fire fighter/ Fire marshals and Fire equipment inspector in his or her work environment. This course will teach delegates the basic firefighting skills that they will need in order to fight a fire safely. Persons involved with the day-to-day activities of Health and Safety.

HIRA (Hazard identification & risk assessment) | Conduct a baseline risk assessment and take appropriate action (244287)

WHY |This course covers the principles of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment. The need for Risk Assessment arises out of the Section 8 responsibility of the Employer/ CEO to identify risks in the workplace and implement measures necessary to mitigate these risks. 

WHO | The Course is aimed at individuals responsible for and persons designated (Risk Assessor Appointment)  with the task of implementing and managing HIRA measures in the workplace including conducting a Baseline Risk Assessment.

WHY | The Health and Safety Act requires the reporting and investigation of workplace incidents including and not limited to section 24 incidents. Specific incidents must be reported to the Provincial Director within a specified time period. This course prepares covers the principals of Incident reporting and investigating necessary to fulfil the role of the Incident Reporting Appointee.
